HWAccess v1.10 Overview
HWAccess is a low-level hardware configuration and validation tool. Currently supports WinXP/2K/9x/Me operating systems. Provides information and allows modifications of the installed PC silicon components or other external components. Using the available SDK you can create your own custom library and test or acquire information through a port, address location, processor register and much more. This simply means you have access to the PC hardware and therefore you may even access remote devices through a serial, parallel, network or any other physical port installed on your system.
With v1.10 you have an ACPI, Multiprocessor, PCI, SMBIOS, I/O, Memory & Address Space, IOAPIC/PIC, IDE, CMOS, System BIOS, browsers along with validation tools. Also included a disassembler library that can decode Physical memory and files. New with this version is also the Watch & Sample capability that added for many of the external libraries. You may monitor Ports, Physical memory locations, MSR processor registers. You can write scripts to process physical memory and I/O port data. All of these through an friendly and innovative user interface. Customers have the ability to create their own proprietary libraries and use the existing H/W services. Version 1.10 has an extensive collection of libraries including: ACPI with AML Source decoder , PCI configuration space browser and PCI tests , SMBIOS browser and structure type validation , Multiprocessor table decoder, BIOS legacy tables decoder, APIC/PIC information, CMOS bank decoder, CPU MSR registers editor , Physical memory Disassembler and file Disassembler, Windows process viewer, I/O editor with script processing, Physical Memory editor and script processor. Watches to probe Ports, Physical memory, MSR registers, ACPI I/O objects, CMOS registers, PCI registers. Timing Checks for Ports and Memory. Processor tests for MMX, FPU, General instructions and memory access. PCI tests for SERR#, PERR#, floating bus failures and error logging.
The external libraries update the views of HWAccess and provide configuration tools, H/W test features, with system information. An interface mechanism allows communication between Library/Application in a traditional manner that allows extensibility of the existing libraries as well as development of new libraries.
