The file menu options include New, Open, Save, Save As, Save Workspace, Print, Print Preview and Exit.

Selecting the New option will create an untitled view that will be used by the HWAccess for processing and storing hardware information. It is best to use next the Save As option so you may rename the current view and store it to a file.

Selecting the Open command will prompt for a file to open. The selected file is used by HWAccess for processing and storing hardware information. Previous file information will be lost upon save.

Selecting the Save command will save the current view. The view is saved in text format and can be later used by other applications (for example notepad.exe) to browse the stored information.

Selecting the Save As command will first prompt for a filename to use. Select an existing or create a new file to store the view information.

Selecting the Save Workspace command will save the outlook of HWAccess so when the current settings are maintained. This includes control bar position, colors and windows size and position. Please note saving the workspace does not save the external libraries settings. DLL settings are saved through the Tools-Options dialog.

Selecting the Print command will print the current view to the selected printer. The windows default dialog will show up allowing selection of page range and printer features. The header/footer will be included in the print operation if selected. See also View options.

Selecting the Print Preview command will show the current view as it will be printed. The settings are based on the printer and paper selection. HWAccess has been tested with Letter, A4, in portrait/landscape modes. Although the other paper sizes are also supported it is recommended to use the standard settings for best results.

Selecting the Exit command will terminate the HWAccess application. There is no confirmation to save the contents of the current view or to store the workspace. Selecting this option will terminate the application and unload all active external libraries.
