New Features and Side Effect fixes

This section describes the updates, releases,  new features, enhancements and bug fixes for the HWAccess application, the released external libraries and the low level driver. For complete coverage of the included DLL's see External Libraries.

HWAccess v1.10 Release February 2004

- Added new H/W level services for I/O, Memory and Processor registers sampling.
- Added new H/W level services for I/O, Memory and Processor registers multiple access.
- Added Watches window. Monitors Ports, Memory and Processor registers.
- Added Log window. Lists messages from the external libraries and the main application.
- Added Resource Activity window. Displays H/W resources used by the external libraries.
- Added Active Controls capability for each library. DLL functionality can be changed from the active controls navigation panel.
- Added Find/Search Option
- Fix for data transfers >16M between DLL/APP
- Updated documentation
- Removed Archives library
- Added Multi-processor library. Decodes MP v1.4, MP v1.1 tables
- Added ACPI library. Decodes ACPI tables, generates AML source code. Supports ACPI v1.0, 2.0
- Added Disassembler library. Supports 16/32bit x86 modes.
- Modified architecture to support parallel processing between external libraries and H/W services.
- Added Windows XP GUI interface.

ACPI Library (dllacpi.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Initial Release.
- Includes AML Source generator, Active controls, ACPI table decoding.
- Includes Watch capability of decoded ACPI I/O objects.
- Includes Watch Sampling period. Supports 1 mSec to 10 Seconds intervals.
- Decodes RSDP, RSDT, FADT, FACS, MADT, XSDT etc.

ASM Library (dllasm.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Initial Release.
- Includes x86 16/32 bit Disassembler.
- Disassembles Physical Memory in the range of 0 to 4GB, files, processes.
- Enumerates and Lists processes, shows limited heap allocation for each process.

System Library (dllbios.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Fix for Extended BDA scan.
- Added background processing.

CMOS Library (dllcmos.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added Active Controls.
- Added Watch capability for all 128 registers in the first CMOS bank.
- Added Watch Sampling period. Supports 1 mSec to 10 Seconds intervals.
- Added background processing.

CPU Library (dllcpu.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added Active Controls.
- Moved MSR List from the configuration options to the active controls pane.
- Added Processor instruction tests for Generic registers, SSE, SSE2, FPU and Memory.
- Added MSR Watch capability for all MSR registers supported by the processor.
- Added Watch Sampling period. Supports 1 mSec to 10 Seconds.
- Added background processing.

IDE Library (dllide.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Fix for intermittent hangs in Win9x if the IDE drive wasn't ready.
- Added background processing.

I/O Library (dllio.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added Active Controls.
- Moved Script List from the configuration options to the active controls pane.
- Added Watch capability for all ports 0x0000-0xFFFF range.
- Added Watch Sampling period. Supports 1 mSec to 10 Seconds
- Added I/O Timing Check with separate data types in nSecs.
- Added Script Step functionality to execute a selected script line only.
- Added background processing.

Memory Library (dllmemory.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added Active Controls
- Moved Script List from the configuration options to the active controls pane
- Added Watch capability for physical memory range 0-4GB.
- Added Watch Sampling period. Supports 1 mSec to 10 Seconds
- Added Memory Timing Check with separate data types in pSecs.

Multiprocessor Library (dllmp.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Initial Release
- Includes decoding of MP table.
- Supports MP spec versions v1.1 and v1.4

PCI Library (dllpci.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added Active Controls.
- Added Watch capability for any register in the PCI configuration space
- Added Watch Sampling period. Supports 1 mSec to 10 Seconds intervals.
- Improved test log. Includes time, date for each error.
- Added background processing for PCI scan and PCI tests.

SMBIOS Library (dllsmbios.dll) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added description for missing fields for structure type-1
- Added background processing.

IA32 Driver (ia32drv.sys) v1.0.0.10 Release February 2004

- Added new services for multiple port, memory and register access.
- Added new services for sampling I/O and physical memory.
