Abstract Zones generates relationships and collections among database entities for online stores, including products, categories, shipping carriers, information pages and product attributes. Online content can be exposed via alternative mechanisms and methods using this module. Quick management is offered from the administration end using an Abstract Content Controller.

This osCommerce module consists of a set of PHP classes, each targeting different aspects of your eCommerce store. Abstract Zones is flexible and can be expanded to satisfy the most difficult requirements including: Grouping products by a specific area or field/attribute, group information pages with a sequence, create super-zones to nest information and associate general information text pages with products. 

All content association operations can be executed in seconds using the advanced controls from your administrator's panel. Abstract Zones can also associate products with a specific checkout module including shipping, payment, order totals and discount coupon modules.

For general text pages, the text page sequencer plugin groups various text pages together forming FAQs, Information Pages and various store usage demonstrations.

The attribute zones is another plugin and can update the option values of multiple products with a single click, greatly reducing editing overhead as well as management problems with product attributes. This plugin enhances the original attributes implementation of the MS2.2 osCommerce engine.

The shipping zones module can bind products to a specific shipping module. This approach is useful for specially handled heavy and overweight products where different shipping carriers must be used for different products. Implementation of shipping zones includes an exclusive or inclusive mode of operation for mixed types of products where the most important carrier may override the rest of the shipping modules during checkout process. Separate shipping cost per product can also be defined from the back end.
