The META-G Meta-Tags generator is one of the most important SEO modules for online stores to describe certain properties of product pages increasing content focus with keywords the site owner wants. Although most of the meta-tags are transparent to visitors, they carry enormous benefits for Search Engine traffic, so when a visitor views the search results there is a higher chance to click the most attractive link or title.
The META-G module automatically generates page titles, content summaries, content keywords and HTML fields which are then communicated primarily via search engines to the end user during a search, for what a page is all about. This in turn increases the click-through rate, in other words there are more chances for the user to click the page with the more relevant title or description summary he sees with Google or Bing for his search criteria.
For products, categories, manufacturers and generic website content the META-G module controls the Titles as they appear on the browser's caption, a summary of the page, content keywords and various control switches for Search Engines on how to treat each page. META-G may also output author information, verification tags and any other custom meta-tag the store requires when selling products online. Each meta-tag can be edited from the admin end and different input boxes are integrated to allow the owner to modify content along with other product fields.
Automatic Meta-Tags Builder
Targeting website optimization, META-G employs a comprehensive meta-tags builder retrieving database information transforming it to titles, keywords and short descriptions. The META-G extension operates with osCommerce v2.x based platforms.
META-G deploys a dual dictionary facility for inclusion/exclusion of keywords or phrases with friendly links and titles. Keywords relevancy can be cross-referenced with the SEO-G friendly links generator. The module gives unique control over phrases as these can be extracted automatically from the database for products, categories, manufacturers etc and can optionally append the store's branded name with the meta-title.

Customizations of Meta-Tags Generation for different online stores
Custom classes can be created for META-G to support other entities. Products, Categories, Manufacturers and individual pages, are already included with the META-G SEO module. Additional classes can be created to service all parameters for your E-Commerce store, boosting the site's content and improving the overall SEO. Additional meta-tags for authors, robots, noindex, nofollow can be customized and defined separately for each product, category, or script from the administrator back end.
PHP Classes using the META-G interface, can be enabled/disabled or they can be configured in terms of ordering so the tags of various entities, can be combined or individually used. Indexing occurs from the administration end of the store, where the merchant has full control of setting up meta-tags at all levels.
Although META-G deploys and utilizes its front-end meta-tags using the auto-builder, it does not interfere with user input and customizations of keywords and phrases. The META-G user input overrides the automatic behavior of this SEO module.
META-G deploys a user friendly control framework where the store owner can edit, delete, or insert the various meta-tags for each database entity, making meta-tags building an easy task. Key phrases or sole keywords can be stored separately in a dictionary, which in turn can be used to emphasize or exclude phrases and keywords from the Meta-Tags exposed.
Automatic population of Keywords with Friendly Links
The SEO-G module interacts with the META-G dictionary, to include or exclude keywords based on definitions, the e-shop administrator sets up for SEO marketing. Phrases can be switched on/off and can be prioritized, shifting the focus of the page content. The dictionary deploys an advanced system extracting words and phrases directly from the products, categories and other entities of your choice from the database.
An exclusion list of keywords is also present and allows removal of specific keywords and phrases from the links (when SEO-G is present) and from the HTML Meta-Tags exposed, There are configuration switches to setup the keywords density the merchant prefers. This leads to better optimization and keyword focus of the overall website content with search engines. At the same time it assists users seeing navigation elements as they can better understand the overall web content and type of products the merchant carries.
META-G includes a Base Products Feed Generator for Search Engines
META-G is equipped with a base products feed generator system that collaborates with SEO-G and extracts the product fields from the database along with structured static HTML links in an XML file. The file can be then submitted to the Google as an XML basemap feed, describing the various products along with their options allowing product links to compete in the online Google Shopping results.
The base-feed generator uses the Google basemap specification to present the correct fields into the XML generated document. XML Feeds can subsequently stored and uploaded to the popular search engine. XML Feeds may also be used as regular feeds in the e-commerce store for product news and product updates.
META-G also communicates with SEO-G as a links assist manager, using its dictionary and exclusion list properties for keywords and phrases. SEO-G implements a phrase decomposition algorithm inside the META-G dictionaries from which it extracts, trims and rearranges keywords of a given entity name. When both SEO modules are integrated, they present consistent and accurate content to the Search Engines, offering a significant advantage against competitors and at the same time amplify the overall website's marketing.
